I går fant vi noe frøktelig kryptisk på internett. På nettsiden til Bloc Party var absolutt alt innhold tatt bort og erstattet med en mystisk nedtelling.
Sånn så det ut. Når dette bildet er tatt var det altså 33 minutter igjen til noe skulle åpenbare seg. Hva kunne det være? Noe å kjedelig som en ny nettside? Selvbiografi? Eller kanskje noe helt annet?
Da klokka hadde tikket seg helt til null dukket det oppe en link til gode, gamle BBC 1. Og jaggu dukka ikke Kele opp i sendinga der litt utpå i går og spilte en flunkende ny låt.

Ca 13,2 sekunder senere dukka det opp en video på youtube. Her snakker vi moderne marketing på høyt nivå. Kanskje litt for høyt for det som liksom skal være et indieband med en tydelig (og antikomersiell) agenda? Men nok om det – dette er låta.

Den nye låta heter da altså «Mercury» og skal slippes som singel i august. Frem til det, og sikkert litt lenger, driver bandet og spiller resten av det som blir deres tredje album.
